Just learning the basics of clutch operation and getting comfortable on the bike after a large step up from the PW50. Overall, the day was a great success with about 20 consecutive starts without stalling, and he even managed to find second gear by the end of the day!

Just tinkering with the old Briggs, making final adjustments to the carb and seeing how slow she can go. It eventually stalled out, could have got it down a bit more if I was quick enough to adjust the low speed screw but tough to do with the camera in my hand. Still pretty impressed with this old girl! December 12th and 55 degrees out, ridiculous... Picked this machine up about a month ago, had a few issues to work on, this is the first test drive. Couldn't get up to full speed, clutch is slipping badly, needs more work, for some reason it grabs great when turning though. Will post better videos in the Spring. Thanks for watching!

Testing out the machine (with difficulty), hard to hold the camera and work the machine through a rock hard drift with only one hand, it began walking up the drift and while blowing snow directly in my face, I still managed to somewhat pull off the video without dropping the camera or letting the machine roll over on top of me. Found this bike locally, barn stored, the guy couldn`t get it running when I went to pick it up. Was intented to be a ``just get it running`` project, but I just seem to get carried away with some things! Although my garage is usually quite messed up, I like my bikes to make up for it. Thanks to my wife for putting up with my $ T!

Well, last I heard she was in London Ontario but that was over a year ago. Sold her off into slavery due to job loss from communism/covid vaccine mandates. We're pure blooded in this household.

awesome video, i would just like to know where you got the plastics from. i got a 85 cr500 aswell but im struggling to find new plastics for it.
I ended up selling this bike earlier this year, all of the plastics on it were OEM Honda pieces. I have bought from DC Plastics in the past for my YZ465 and was less than impressed, but perhaps their quality has improved in the past decade? I would highly recommend Maier, they're a bit pricier but very nice quality replications of original, in my opinion.

Personally I find the overzealous "its super cold start" and lack of proper boots actually add to my skepticism of it being warm lol. Great bike. I would fuck the shit out of it..

Great kick action. Starting it like you mean to. Can be real pigs to get started. I always hold the clutch in though while I kick. thats personal preference though. some guys do some don't
